As of March 19th, SUNY schools have moved to online-only classes effective through the end of the semester. We are continuing to stay up to date, though decisions happen quickly. As the situation changes and guidelines from Binghamton University are shared with us, our operation will continue to evolve. Check this page for updates on how we are continuing to meet the needs of our students.
What does this mean for Hillel? We care about the safety and wellbeing of all of our students and staff and as such have made the difficult decision to suspend all in-person programs, religious services, and classes until students return to campus and pivot our operations online. The Hillel Office is closed until Binghamton University reopens for all employees.
What does this mean for Shabbat? We are still supporting Shabbat in the Home and are thrilled to support a Shabbat experience for students living together in Binghamton. We will revisit this model and let you know on a weekly basis if it will be continuing. Please click here to sign up!
We hope you will use Shabbat to spend time with your roommates, speak with your family, and consider how to best navigate the coming weeks.
