Multicultural Cookbook Helps Haiti Relief - 120 Recipes from Students, Alumni and Parents
Tzedek and Social Justice are some of the most important values in the Jewish tradition. Students at Binghamton have the opportunity to volunteer and participate in many types of volunteer initiatives. We value the time and energy that our students give to those in need.
For more information about Hillel's Helping Hands and Tzedek initiatives through Hillel at Binghamton, contact Bradleigh Margulies or Rabbi Shalom Kantor
Challah for Hunger
CfH's mission is to raise awareness of (and money for) hunger and genocide relief, through the production and sale of challah bread. Challah for Hunger at Binghamton donates half of our proceeds to genocide relief in Darfur through AJWS. We will donate the remaining half to C.H.O.W. to help end hunger in Broome County.

We would like to thank Sodexo for the use of their bakery and their generous support of the Binghamton University Challah for Hunger chapter.
Hearts for Haiti
In response to the 2010 earthquake that devastated the country of Haiti, Hillel is launching a campus wide initiative making and selling chocolate heart lollipops. 100% of the proceeds are going directly to relief efforts in Haiti.
If you would like to get involved, please contact Jen Diamond.
Sukkah Survivor
Sukkah Survivor is an opportunity for students to do good for the world while celebrating Sukkot. In this competition, students raise money and awareness for homelessness by collecting pledges for each night they will sleep in the sukkah.
To participate in Sukkah Survivor, please contact Rabbi Shalom Kantor
Big Brothers / Big Sisters
Volunteer with local Binghamton kids in the Jewish community. Help plan events related to Jewish holidays, celebrations and mentor teenagers. Interested? Contact Bradleigh Margulies.
Shabbat Food Donation Program
Although most of Hillel's Shabbat dinners have hundreds of students in attendance, sometimes we have extra food left over. Instead of letting this food go to waste, students volunteer to take the food after Shabbat to a local food pantry where it can be used for good. If you would like to volunteer to bring food to a local shelter, please contact Bradleigh Margulies.
