General Volunteer Guidelines
When you sign up for a shift, you are committing yourself to that shift only, not that time every week. The amount you volunteer per week, per month, per semester is up to you!
Please remember that when you sign up for a shift, we expect you to be there. Once signing up for a shift, you are responsible to follow through with that commitment. We do understand that emergencies arise last minute. Please email binghamton@challahforhunger.org or contact your shift leader (contact information is listed when you sign up for a shift) if you cannot make your shift.
Volunteering with Challah for Hunger is a fun, fulfilling, learning experience. Please remember to always conduct yourself in a professional manner, and remember that when you are volunteering with Challah for Hunger you are also representing the organizations we work with including Hillel, Sodexo, NYPIRG, C.H.O.W and American Jewish World Services.
Guidelines for Bakery Volunteers
* If you do not know where the Sodexo Bakery is, please contact your shift leader (contact information is listed when you sign up for a shift).
* Anyone can volunteer in the bakery. You do not need to have experience in cooking or baking, we will teach you!
* Long hair must be pulled back (hairnets provided).
* All nail polish must be removed.
* Closed toed shoes are required.
Guidelines for Sales Table Volunteers
* You must wear a Challah for Hunger T-shirt when volunteering at sales tabling or sales pick up. Please email binghamton@challahforhunger.org if you do not have one.
