FreshFest begins Sunday, August 19th with brunch and check in at 12pm with buses scheduled to depart campus around 2pm.

Hillel students will be offering campus tours to new students during the week and students are encouraged to take advantage of those tours to get to know the campus better.

Responsibilities and Expectations for Hillel at Binghamton FreshFest Participants

To All Participants:

We are delighted that you are participating on Hillel's FreshFest Program for incoming Freshmen and Transfer students. Hillel is committed to providing all participants with a safe and enjoyable experience. Your safety and well-being are our top priorities.

Please review the following policies, guidelines and requirements. By registering for FreshFest, you will verify your understanding of, and your agreement to the terms of Hillel's policies during the entire length of the FreshFest program.

Responsibilities and Expectations for Participants

  • Participants are expected to remain with the group. Participants will not be allowed to separate from the group during scheduled activities.
  • You are expected to treat your fellow participants and trip staff members with respect. Staff members are responsible for your well-being and Hillel's policies have been crafted for your benefit.
  • Please respect the privacy and property of others under all circumstances. Physical violence, verbal abuse, and/or vandalism are prohibited at any time during the course of the trip.

Illegal Drugs/ Substance Abuse Policy

  • Federal laws provide that it is illegal for to purchase, distribute, possess or use a controlled substance or illegal drug. These substances include, but are not limited to, marijuana, ecstasy, hashish, cocaine, PCP, LSD, heroin, designer drugs, and others. In addition, purposeful abuse of prescription or over-the-counter medications is also illegal. Violation of the law may result in arrest or incarceration. Violation of this policy will result in immediate expulsion from Hillel's FreshFest program at your own cost.

Alcohol Policy

  • Participants may not use or possess alcohol during the program.

Smoking Policy

  • Smoking is not permitted on buses, or in any part of FreshFest.

Engaging in Illegal Behavior

  • Any violation of the law, including shoplifting and other forms of theft, will not be tolerated at any time during the course of the trip and will result in immediate expulsion.


Hillel at Binghamton FreshFest participants engaging in any form of proscribed behavior, as described above, may be expelled from the Hillel at Binghamton FreshFest program. Any participant removed from the program will be responsible for all personal expenses thereafter.  Hillel reserves the right to contact your parents, guardians or emergency contact in the result of a violation of these rules or an emergency.
